Fun House

We have a FUN Dad.  A fun, CREATIVE, Dad.  A fun, creative Dad, that can MAKE ANYTHING.  And when you have a FUN, CREATIVE DAD, who can MAKE ANYTHING.  You are bound to have the coolest house on the block.

The house where all the neighbor kids like to congregate.
I was feeling bad the other day because I haven't ever thrown a birthday party for any of the kids.  It's not that I am against them.  It's just that we have moved them around so much that we are always in the middle of a huge house project, moving, or having just moved at birthday time so that they don't know any kids.

But then I realized, when you have 6 siblings, and especially when all of the siblings have friends over, it is a party almost every day around here.

These are the cookies we made with our friends last week.  Not only were they festive, they were also delicious!

Also- last week, THIS happened!

Our Dad made us an honest to goodness Splash Park on our concrete patio.

How cool is that?!?
(Ignore the weeds- we are still working on the yard)

And as if that weren't enough, look what he put in our basement!
Yep, we have a swing in our family room downstairs.

And this in the hallway between the kids rooms:
What is it you ask?

It's a jumping gauge to see how high the kids can jump.

And boy does this thing ever get used.  These kids are going to be slam dunking a basketball one day soon.

I also love this in our basement.  We intentionally left a big wall blank.  We use a projector to project movies and images off Zac's computer.  It is a million times better than paying $100 to take us all to the movies and then missing said movie while chasing two year olds and babies around the hall of the theatre.

Here are some of my other favorite parts of our FUN house:
The water fountain Zac made for me a couple of years ago for Christmas.

I am also a little obsessive about maps.  I got Zac this one of the United States for Christmas, so that he can show us where his work travels take him.

And we got this ginormous one of the world to put in our entry.  I mean this thing is like 9 ft. long.  It is a big map!
I can't wait to travel more as we grow older to add more pins to our maps.

This sweet puppy here is a "Redneck Intercom System".  It is a PVC pipe that connects our upstairs hallway with the hallway between the kids rooms downstairs.  I can talk in this thing and they can hear me as if I am standing outside their bedroom door yelling. "WAKE UP LAZY BONES!"

And Zac made this sweet contraption outside his shower.
With a flip of a switch that thing flips on a full body blow drier.  You won't find that in any old store!

And of course, when you have a two year old, he makes every day fun.  Like when he takes a brand new bottle of bubble bath and dumps the whole thing in a whirlpool tub and turns on the whirlpool.

We had bubbles from one end of the house to the other end.

And how do I ever get the kids to go to bed when there are so many fun things to do around here?
Oh- we just set up the tent on top of the trampoline and have a super cool sleep out.
Are we the luckiest family in the world or what?
