Snow Day!

I would have never guessed that moving just an hour South of our previous home would change the climate so much.  I remember as a kid having huge drifts of snow every year to bore caves into and years when we made snow turkeys for Thanksgiving and snowmen and forts galore.  This year in our new home we haven't had more than an inch or two on the ground at a time and it only lasts for days.  I also know that this isn't a typical year and the farmers in this area even asked for the members of the LDS Church to hold a special fast to produce more moisture to help with the drought conditions.  And wouldn't you know it, that very fast Sunday, it snowed.  And later that week we got quite a storm and woke up to a foot of glorious workable snowman snow.

Daddy kicked our typical igloo up a notch this year by giving it a Sphinx face and arms.

The big kids make their own snowmen now from start to finish.  Happy Day!

Ashlyn's new friend

Tanner was working hard hauling loads of snow to add to the igloo.

And of course so was brother, Ian.

Love this kid!

On the back of the igloo, Zac piled straw bales and covered them with snow to make a sled run.  I can't begin to explain how happy we are to have our dad done building the house and home with us ready and willing to play!

Charlotte thought the igloo was pretty great.

And daddy helped her make a snowman of her own.
The saddest thing ever was that by the end of the day, it warmed up and the snowmen all collapsed because they melted that fast.  We never did get to play in the igloo for more than a day :(

Bronson and I did a lot of watching from the window as it was quite windy and cold while the snow play was taking place.  I feel like such an invalid with this pregnancy.  I can't even zip up my coat anymore.  Only 6 more weeks!
