Halloweenies

Just gettin' ready for Halloween around here.  We are having a hard time finding blank walls to hold all of the crafts that are coming home from school.  The costumes have been picked.  Pumpkin carving ideas are being finalized, and we made sugar cookies!  Halloween is imminent.

Our dad also surprised us last week when he got home a little early from work and took us to a corn maze.  There were lots of fun things to do at the maze such as the barrel ride pictured below, slides, and many mazes.  The maze that we went to was really neat.  There were three different levels for different expertise levels.  The kids one had a mystery.  We had to figure out which 6 of Farmer Brown's animals stole his pie.  To find out, we had to find 6 different checkpoints throughout the maze and make a crayon rubbing of the animal print there.  At the end we compared animal tracks with a poster of different animal tracks to find out who dunnit.  We also did the intermediate maze, which played out like a game of clue.  It also had different checkpoints and at each checkpoint there was a picture that eliminated a suspect, location, and weapon.  When we found all of the checkpoints, there was only one suspect, location, and weapon left and we were able to turn our game cards in for stickers and candy.  It was a really great night, other than we froze our tootsies off.

A couple of carnivals, trunk or treats, pumpkin carving and a night of trick or treating to go... bring it!
