St. Patrick's Day 2026

We haven't been planning ahead very well the past few years for our leprechaun traps on St. Patrick's Day.  March Madness always seems to line up at the same time and take precedence as we fill out our brackets.

Whitlee reminded us about 10 minutes before bed and we had to scramble as a team to come up with a good trap.  Charlotte had the brilliant idea that we could get them to sign a "fake" contract with a cut out on the signature line leading to a different contract underneath.  So that when they signed our "Peace Truce" they also unwittingly signed an agreement to give us all their gold.

Unfortunately for us, those leprechauns are so smart and saw our trick and matched it with a double cross of their own.  Whitlee was not amused when she woke up to find that we had accidentally signed a contract agreeing to allow her to be a slave to the leprechauns!

Fortunately, they never showed up to collect her, and still left us some gold candy instead of their real stash of gold.
And we also got lucky this year that they didn't trash our house too badly.  Maybe, because our trap was gentler, they went easy on us.  I think as we get older, we are working our way towards a more peaceful union between our species.  We have hope for the future!
