Zac's Trip to the Phillipines
In April, Zac had the opportunity to travel to Manila, Philippines with his company and as always with international travel, it was educational and eye opening to see how other brothers and sisters in our world live.
Though Manila only has a population just under 2 million people and isn't one of the top ten biggest cities in the world...
Manila is the world's most densely populated city with 111,002 people per square mile!! Coming from rural Idaho, that figure blows my mind.
Though it is on the other side of the world, it's good to know there was still a Mc Donalds on hand.
Zac learned that in the Philippines there is no "public transportation", so there are no buses. Therefore, private citizens buy these "jeepneys" and cram them unrealistically full of people to make a buck in the transportation industry.
All of the jeepneys try to out-do each other with their eye-catching paint jobs.
You can also travel by motorcycle sidecar.
There were lots of old historical buildings and churches to tour. Rich with their nations history.
And interesting characters that walk the streets working for tips.
Zac loved this display of some of the historic buildings re-created with Lego brand bricks.
But his favorite place to visit was the Manila LDS Temple. He was able to do a session of temple work there and loved the clothing that they provided him with. They were different than what we are used to here in the United States and very comfortable.
This guy is really starting to conquer traveling this world one country at a time and I am so jealous!
