Halloween 2017

Yay! for Halloween!  Could there be a better holiday really than playing dress up, carving pumpkins, going to corn mazes, carnivals, and parties with cousins?  Not to mention all the CANDY and treats... and of course a few tricks.  Here are the highlights from our celebration this year.

We all participated in our annual Pumpkin Pick contest.  To participate, each contestant must carve a pumpkin using their own ideas.  No Pinterest, no carving kits, Internet ideas, magazine ideas, etc.  100% Creative Juices flowing.  It is wonderful!

This year Whitlee wanted a tea party pumpkin.  She originally wanted a pumpkin with flowers in it and she came up with that all by herself, but it morphed into a tea cup.

She actually took 2nd place in the Pumpkin Pick this year!

Charlotte was our returning champion and came up with a cactus pumpkin this year.

She didn't know how to carve a pot, so just carved the word "POT".  Very clever.

Bronson wanted a turkey pumpkin.

It was a hit with those who were ready for Thanksgiving.

Ian came up with this pirate ship all on his own and made it 100% by himself.

And he WON this year's Kids Pumpkin Pick.  He got to sign the trophy and it now resides in his room.

Ashlyn had basketball on the brain since she is on the 8th grade girl's basketball team this year.

And Tanner came up with this amazing globe!

We always have so much fun carving and competing together.

Here are Zac and My contributions to the adult Pumpkin Pick:

Lori's Celery 'Clipse (Solar Eclipse)

And Zac's Hot Air Balloon

Zac was the winner this year and gets to keep the golden pumpkin trophy and got to pick a date night out.

This year Charlotte got a babysitting job helping out babysit our little Josie on a Saturday and she earned the money to buy a costume this year.
She chose a fairy costume.

Whitlee was excited to be a cat.

Ian was an evil magician.

Ashlyn was a robber.

Tanner was either Indiana Jones or The Man from Snowy River... he didn't care which, he just really wanted a bull whip.

And of course, Bronson was Peter Pan.

Happy Halloween!  From the Fillmores
