Harvest Break
Last year we discovered the joys of living in a farming community when our kids got two weeks off of school for Harvest Break! We had never had Harvest Break before so we called up our cousins who live to the North and have enjoyed Harvest Break for years to see what we should do. We decided to meet at the family cabin together for some Fall fun, food, and crafts, and a tradition was born. We couldn't wait to replicate it again this year!
We took lots of Fall walks gathering colorful leaves and plant life to make beautiful autumn bouquets.
Bronson is in a phase where when I take his picture, he sees me crouch down, so he crouches down too. He is such a poser and likes to say "cheeeeeese."
This beautiful wood nymph helped me wake the forest by drawing faces on the trees...
We arrived Wednesday night as Zac had to travel to North Dakota for work and the cabin was on his way, so he helped us load up and made sure everything was in working order when he dropped us off. Then we had a long 24-hour wait until the cousins arrived.
And when they did, the crafting frenzy began!
And the food frenzy...
There is no better feeling in the world than seeing this little cabin crowded with the ones we love.
Even Bronson is at an age where he enjoys being with the cousins.
And then the dads came and happy day there was fishing and visiting!
And Minnows!
These kids love to catch minnows by the bucketful.
And finally my favorite thing to do at the cabin... rest and relaxation.
Sigh... what a fun trip. Can't wait for next year!
